Seminar

Cyber security in practice – from cyber espionage to negotiation

October marks National Cybersecurity Month, and we kick off the campaign with a thought-provoking event on specific cyber threats—such as ransomware—presented by Michael Sjøberg, an experienced data hostage negotiator.

In this seminar we will focus on how we – as a university – can protect our data, research and reputation against cyber threats all year round.

You will gain insight from three key players who work every day to protect, analyse and manage digital attacks – from strategic defence to negotiation with criminals.

PROGRAM

12.30 – Welcome by Anders Fosgerau, CISO DTU
The Head of Section for Cyber and Information Security at DTU gives a sober status on a continued high threat level and points out that the university must be better equipped and prepared through both technology and vigilant behaviour.

12.40 – Speech by Galina Ianchina, Head of DKCERT
How do we defend the university sector against digital attacks? Galina Ianchina gives an insight into DKCERT's work to protect research and society against cybercrime – and shares strategic considerations about the future of cyber defence.

13.15 – Presentation by Michael Sjøberg, data hostage negotiator, Delta Crisis
Michael Sjøberg has negotiated with cybercriminals on behalf of organizations that have been exposed to cyber attacks. He provides a unique insight into negotiation tactics, crisis communication and strategies when disaster strikes.
