"DTU Vet in a strong position to enter a new phase. A phase in which we develop and leverage DTU's huge potential in the fields of life science and bioengineering."
Anders O. Bjarklev, President of DTU
Back in 1985-90 Niels Tækker Foged was employed as project manager at Statens Veterinære Serumlaboratorium (now DTU Vet); here he contributed to the introduction of molecular biological methods which in turn led to e.g. the development of a patented vaccine and corresponding diagnostics for infectious atrophic rhinitis in pigs.
Niels Tækker Foged leaves a position as Chief Scientific Officer at the Swedish diagnostics solutions company Euro Diagnostica AB.
"The appointment of Niels Tækker Foged puts DTU Vet in a strong position to enter a new phase. A phase in which we develop and leverage DTU's huge potential in the fields of life science and bioengineering, while maintaining DTU Vet's strong research line and continuing to consolidate the department's consulting and scientific advice activities," says President Anders Bjarklev.
