DTU-president visits 'corona engine room'

This year the President’s traditional New Year's greeting is sent from Lyngby Campus, where Anders Bjarklev talks to some of the colleagues who have played a major role in society's fight against corona.

Instead of holding the traditional New Year reception, President Anders Bjarklev has visited places on campus where there are activities directly related to the corona pandemic.

In the Center for Diagnostics, he talks to Head of Development Helene Larsen, who is responsible for setting up DTU’s test line for covid-19. In a short time the center changed from 100 specialized analyzes to 10,000 covid-19 analyzes per day.

Laboratory technician Jonas Høgberg talks about the work in the laboratory, where they, among other things, developed a washing procedure that could be used if the market should run out of necessary plastic equipment.

Finally, Associate Professor at DTU Compute Lasse Engbo gives an insight into his very special year 2020, which has mostly been about working as a member of Statens Serum Institut's expert group. Here he has contributed to the new mathematical models used to calculate how the corona epidemic will develop.
