Street Food takes off at DTU in Lyngby

With the introduction of new Street Food stands at DTU Lyngby campus, there are now even more culinary options to choose from.

Street Food is no longer restricted to downtown Copenhagen. The introduction of three Street Food stands—with a fourth one imminent—bodes well for food lovers in and around DTU Lyngby Campus.

DTU Street Food—a culinary initiative for students, tradesmen, researchers, and other visitors to the campus—offers an exciting range of lunchtime delights. Whereas previously there have been temporary food stands at DTU, the new Street Food stands are to be a permanent feature on campus. Currently, the parties have signed a one-year contract with the possibility for an extension. Street Food stands are mobile food outlets that can be found at different locations around the campus. At the moment, the stands are located in separate quadrants, as shown on the map below.

Zaza Streetshawarma
If you love shawarma, head for the first quadrant. Here you can savour wraps and pita bread filled with delicious flank steak. Hummus, tzatziki, and organic salads—including the vegan variety—are also on offer. Zaza Streetshawarma can be found behind Building 116 and is open on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Yatai by Jens Rahbek
The man behind the sticks'n'sushi chain has moved to Lyngby to serve Japanese street food. Here, as the name suggests, you can enjoy sticks and sushi. Yatai is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and can be found in the third quadrant next to Building 322. Read the article on Yatai from DTUavisen no 8.

7Cocinas Bagels
In the fourth quadrant—at 7Cocinas Bagels—you can create your own bagel using different fresh vegetable and meet fillings. The bagel stand also offers a selection of salads and eastern dishes such as hummus, falafel, and tandoori chicken. 7Cocinas Bagels is located next to Building 414 and is open on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.—and as something unique—open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. to the delight of those working on campus.
