Anders Bjarklev has been responsible for the day-to-day management of DTU as President since 2011, and his appointment is now extended until autumn 2028.
The extension is based on the results he has achieved, says Margrethe Vestager, Chair of the DTU Board of Governors:
"Anders Bjarklev has competently, passionately and persistently led DTU towards the realisation of DTU's objectives. He bears a large part of the responsibility and credit for DTU today being a leading elite university of global stature. I am pleased that Anders Bjarklev will continue as President, and I look forward to the continued collaboration on DTU's new strategy, its composition and realisation," says Margrethe Vestager.
DTU's Board of Directors has emphasised that since his appointment, Anders Bjarklev has continuously developed the university to become one of the leading technical universities in Europe.
DTU has a clear profile in sustainability, digitalisation, business collaboration and especially innovation. DTU attracts researchers and students from all over the world and benefits from one of the strongest innovation ecosystems among elite European universities.
Given Anders Bjarklev's extensive management experience and insight into the education and research sector, the Board believes that Anders Bjarklev is the right person to lead DTU's continued operations and development.
Anders Bjarklev looks forward to the continued development of DTU, which as a leading technical university has a role to play in solving several of today's major crises:

With the extension, Anders Bjarklev is employed as President of DTU until 31 October 2028.
