More engineers to all of Denmark

DTU will train more engineers and IT specialists and meet the demand from large parts of the business community all over Denmark. Therefore DTU will implement 6 initiatives as part of further natural development as an elite technical university and partly as a constructive response to the government’s and a broad political majority’s desire for more engineers, IT specialists, and others to be trained all over the country.

DTU also proposes strengthening the interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, the STEM subjects, among young people.

DTU’s six initiatives address two main challenges:

  • Digital Twin University – a new, primarily digital engineering education for the whole of Denmark.
  • Residential Colleges in several places in the country.
  • Study programmes are moved to Risø.
  • Establishment of study programs in Hirtshals and Kalundborg.
  • Establishment of STEM teacher’s education.
  • Continuing and further education in the primary and lower secondary school area.
