Intro event for DTU BioBuilders
Do you want to work on a student-driven project and get the chance to compete in the iGEM Grand Jamboree? Then join the DTU BioBuilders 2025!
from all around the World. The iGEM culminates in the Grand Jamboree event held
in Paris in early November 2025.
What are you going to do as a BioBuilder?
Throughout the year, you will work to solve a real-world problem using synthetic biology
as part of a student-driven scientific research group, finding solutions to major World challenges. The efforts are distributed across 10 months involving planning, developing, and execution of your own exciting research project including raising funds, engaging with companies, coding your own website, designing outreach material, and building strong friendships with the other participants.
Who do DTU BioBuilders need?
iGEM is an interdisciplinary engineering competition, requiring students from multiple
engineering fields. Being part of the team is about much more than “just science” as the best teams bring together diverse competences, complementary skills, and knowledge. Thus, all backgrounds are welcome (both on the BSc and MSc level), for enthusiastic, committed, open minded, hardworking and eager to learn students - we have been waiting for you!
Why join?
iGEM is truly an international and amazing event (https://igem.org), which is important for DTU and it's international profile, which consequently qualifies the DTU BioBuilders to be among DTU’s prestige projects, the Blue Dot projects (https://blue-dot.dtu.dk/english/).
Additionally, the BioBuilders team is actively involved with the Innovation Hub of DTU, Skylab (https://www.skylab.dtu.dk), since bio-entrepreneurship is the next step for your idea to become reality.
