CYBERSURE - Master's in Cybersecurity and Assurance - Erasmus Mundus

CYBERSURE graduates are highly sought after by organizations across Europe and beyond. This comprehensive programme equips you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in diverse cybersecurity roles, from technical positions to strategic leadership.

CYBERSURE aims to educate professional engineers who are able to take on the most demanding R&D tasks and drive the development of future products and services

The first year of the CYBERSURE curriculum is offered by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). During the first year at NTNU, you will develop skills, understanding and knowledge related to technologies, security threats and risks, assurance and compliance, and security strategies and operations. You will study at NTNU's campus in Trondheim during the first semester and move to Gjøvik during the second semester.

At the end of the first academic year, we offer a joint one-week summer school for all first year CYBERSURE students. This complements the curriculum offered by the entry and exit universities by introducing the most recent and up-to-date topics in the cybersecurity and assurance fields. It also serves as a networking and feedback event for all students before they move to exit universities. A summer internship is taken at one of the programme's industry partners or in an applied research project in June-August before the second-year studies.

You will complete your second year of studies at one of the partner universities: Aalto, KTH, DTU, UT, EURECOM or TU Graz. They will specialize in one of the respective tracks as indicated in the model below.

The final project, the Master's thesis, is written under the supervision and co-supervision of the second-year university and NTNU. The language of instruction in all universities is English.

Specializations

During the second-year studies, each student will complete 30 ECTS of courses in one of the consortium universities choosing a specialization track:

  • Finland, Aalto University: Distributed Systems Security
  • Sweden, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Networks and Systems Security
  • Denmark, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Advanced Cybersecurity and Software Assurance
  • Estonia, University of Tartu (UT), Cryptography
  • France, EURECOM, Big Data Security
  • Austria, Graz University of Technology (TU Graz), Security Engineering
