The polytechnical foundation in the Master of Science Programme at DTU

The polytechnical foundation is one of the four blocks of courses in the master´s programmes at DTU. The polytechnical foundation courses are compulsory in all bachelor's and master's programmes.

In DTU's master's programmes, the polytechnical foundation aims to give you an understanding of the context in which you will work as an engineer, and it consists of two courses:

• Quantitative sustainability: gives you the tools and skills to work with significant global societal challenges such as environmental, social and economic sustainability.
• Innovation in Engineering: gives you knowledge about innovation processes, teamwork and business understanding – all related to the specific content of your education.
