GPS stations measure daily ice loss in Greenland

Monitoring the effects of climate change in Greenland has been made much easier with an innovative method developed by researchers at DTU using 61 national GPS stations in Greenland.

DTU-researches are using data 61 from national GPS stations in Greenland to monitor daily ice loss.
Researchers at DTU can now calculate how much the ice sheets in Greenland melts daily by using data from 61 GPS measuring stations placed directly on the bedrock around Greenland. Photo: DTU Space
