The keel of Denmark's new research vessel takes shape

The construction of Denmark's research vessel Dana V has reached the keel laying ceremony, which marks the completion of the first section of the keel, the bottom of the ship.

The first element of the keel on Dana V was laid in place yesterday on the slipway at the Spanish shipyard Freire. General Manager Marcos Freire (left) from the Freire shipyard participated in the ceremony together with Professor Friedrich Wilhelm Köster from DTU and DTU University Director Claus Nielsen, who both brought a coin that was symbolically placed under the keel of Dana V to bring good luck.
