DTU President to new students: "Welcome to Europe's best technical university"

On Monday 22 January 2024, over 800 new master's students started their studies at DTU. That covers both Danish and international as well as exchange students. Furthermore, on Thursday 25 January, 53 students embarked on the study programme Civil Engineering, while the digital study programme in Mechanical Engineering counts 25 students.

President Anders Bjarklev welcomed the new students to Europe's best technical university, which DTU was named at the end of 2023 by the European ranking list EngiRank.

"I became an engineer myself because because I wanted to develop technology, which makes life better for people. At DTU, we call it technology for people. You have also thought about why you want to become an engineer: What you want to achieve? What you want to learn? What you want to do? What difference you will make? We're looking forward to see what you envision an engineer to be," said DTU’s President to the budding engineers.

The winter study start, organized in collaboration with the student association Polyteknisk Forening (PF), contains both academic and social activities, which introduce the students to their studies and fellow students.

In addition to the president, Dean of Education Lars D. Christoffersen and President of PF Mikkel Berrig Rasmussen also welcomed the new students to DTU.
