"I am completely overwhelmed and thrilled. I had forgotten it was a competition until all five of us were on stage, and the judges were ready to announce who the winner was," laughs Nathalie.

"Standing there I could feel the the butterflies in my stomach, but until then, my focus was entirely on delivering the presentation and learning as much as possible from the process," she says.

The big final show, dubbed 'Forskerfesten', was broadcast on DR - Danmarks Radio.

"I was genuinely surprised that they ended up choosing me because the other four finalists were incredibly talented in their own way. I must also say that I am quite overwhelmed by the many words of praise that I have received afterwards - from so many people," says Nathalie, who, after the final show and a festive evening, took a morning trip to the sea to release the moss animals that she had used as a visual eye-catcher in different media during the week:

"The finals was a fantastic experience, reminding me of the day I defended my PhD. It might actually beat that experience."
