Facts

In 2025, the ERC will award EUR 2.7 billion to research. The large grants are awarded to promising young researchers at European institutions and to the very best researchers on the continent or researchers who wish to conduct research in Europe.

The grants have in common that they are awarded to projects of a high international standard based on the researchers’ own innovative ideas. In addition to considerable funds, the ERC grant also opens doors to new research environments, which can kick-start a scientific career, especially for young researchers.
