Irini Angelidaki (IA), PhD is Professor at DTU with wide expertise in bioconversions of biomass to bioproducts, biofuels, and bioenergy production, in optimization of the anaerobic processes and development of sustainable solutions for organic waste and wastewater treatment. She has more than 700 scientific publications, (>440 WoS publications); >5 patents. She has been member of the editorial board in >5 international biotechnological/environmental journals. She has served in several national and international committees and worked with a range of organizations and research bodies. Examples hereof are: the Danish Research Council (Free Research Council; Research for Technology and production, FTP); the Swedish Danish Research Formas, the European Research Council’s (ERC) panel, for starters/consolidators (LS9), panel in the Swedish Research Council (VR). She is a member of the managing committee of the DTU Microbe intitiative, member of the management committee of the AD Specialist Group IWA. She has the last 20 years coordinated/participated in a large number of projects financed both from EU and from national funding. IA is the head of the Bioconversions (BioCon) Section at the department of Chemcial and Biochemical Engineering - DTU. The BioCon section is active and dynamic research group working in the following areas: Biogas, Biofuels, Microbial Electrochemistry, Algae as bioresource and Biorefineries.
