My research approach aims at combining experimental and modeling techniques for a quantitative understanding of physical and (bio)chemical processes affecting the fate and transport of contaminants in the subsurface. My interests focus on the investigation of mixing processes in aquifer systems, reactive transport of chemicals in groundwater, biogeochemical modeling, hydrochemistry, charge interactions in electrolyte solutions, interpretation of isotopic signatures and on natural attenuation and engineered remediation of contaminated sites.
