Mohammad Mustafa Ghafurian is an assistant professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering from the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. He works in the field of inter discipline issues and representations suitable for several applied research tasks. He has also carried out experimental research on harvesting and storing renewable energy, heat transfer and desalination systems, focusing on low-cost and passive systems, etc. With the HYHP (salt HYdrate Heat Pipe) form Marri-curie program project, He joined to Dep. of Civil and Mechanical Eng. of Technical University of Denmark (DTU-Construct) as postdoc to create new cutting-edge HP applications to cool and harvest energy. Mohammad Mustafa Ghafurian earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (thermo- luid) in ِDecember 2019 at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, defending a thesis titled “Experimental investigation of solar steam generation by nanotechnology and natural materials”. In the this study, the recent process of harvesting solar energy via different nanoparticles and natural materials such as wood was investigated where the SH-HPs can be utilized to harvest and store solar energy effectively. In addition, His second postdoctoral fellowship, funded by the National Elites Foundation and Iran National Science Foundation (INSF/ No. Grant: 9902029), entiteld "the passive and active cooling system of the oil transformers" can be the other application of the SH-HPs. Mohammad Mustafa Ghafurian has published his results in 24 locations, including articles as senior author in 10 major journals in his field. He is the author of 4 journal papers and several conference/workshop papers. Google Scholar reports 611 citations (h-index=15). He is co-author of papers with major international researchers in his field such as Dr. S. Wongwises, O. Mahian, R. Taylor and E.K. Goharshadi. He has been a visiting researcher at the University of X'ian Jiaotong University. These days, He is a member of the Center for Nanotechnology in Renewable Energies at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM), Iran. Mohammad Mustafa Ghafurian has strong experience in optimization (single/multi-objective) of the combined cooling, heating and power systems in terms of 4E (Energy, Exergy, Economic and environmental) analyses, thermal management and storage (PCM), HP and desalination system which yielded outstanding results. Being enrolled in the mechanics and renewable energy (MRE Lab.) and Energy Systems Improvement Laboratories (ESI Lab.) allowed him to apply his theoretical knowledge into practice and left him familiar with many laboratory techniques and the ability to create research, and collaborate to complete projects. In another project, his experience at Iran University of Science and Technology's ESI lab. as a MSc.'s student allowed him to enhance and cultivate his coding and data analyzing ability, which is truly useful in optimizing new problems.
