Food Microbiology Gut Microbiome

Tine Rask Licht (TRL) is the institute director at the DTU National Food Institute and a professor in gut microbiology. She has supervised over 30 Ph.D. students and is the author of numerous scientific articles in top-ranking journals. She leads the research project PRIMA, funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, and co-leads the Microbiome Health Initiative Microbiome Health Initiative, which brings together leading microbiome researchers from Denmark and abroad in a virtual center focusing on the role of the gut microbiome in metabolic diseases. She has received the Knight’s Cross for her research and the Danisco Prize for her contribution to improving foods. TRL was a member of the Danish Council for Independent Research for Technology and Production (FTP) from 2009 to 2014, and served on the council’s executive committee for the last three years. She has been a member of the academic council at DTU for several periods. She is an active popular science communicator, having contributed to numerous podcasts, radio, and TV programs, and is the author of the book “Gut Feelings and Microbiology”. TRL follows DTU Learn for Life’s Executive MBA program in 2023-2025.
