Prof. Dr. Ugur Soytas is the Head of the Climate Economics and Risk Management Section under the Climate and Energy Policy Division of the Department of Technology, Management, and Economics at the Technical University of Denmark. He is the co-editor of Energy Economics, associate editor of Sustainable Production and Consumption, and the lead editor of the Routledge Handbook of Energy Economics for Taylor & Francis. His research follows two tracks: energy-economy-environment-society nexus and energy commodity markets. He uses empirical methods and an interdisciplinary approach to address urgent and important research questions. He has published several papers in high-impact peer-reviewed journals such as Energy Economics, Energy, Energy Policy, Ecological Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Policy Modeling, npj Urban Sustainability, Technological Forecasting and Social Change. He has 13662 citations, an i-10 index of 72, and an h-index of 41 according to Google Scholar (06/06/2024). Several of his papers are recognized by review articles as highly influential in the energy economics, and environmental and ecological economics fields. He has been (is) involved in several international (Horizon: Pv4Plants) and national (Innomissions: BIFROST, INNO-SALT) projects. He has supervised or co-supervised 21 PhD students to date.
