I am a Senior Researcher and Research Group Leader at DTU Chemical Engineering, CHEC Research Centre. My work focuses on biomass, biogenic resources and biobased materials, with emphasis on feedstock handling, storage, pre-treatment, densification, thermal conversion, material characterization and applied process development. I have extensive experience in biomass pre-treatment, pelletization, pyrolysis, torrefaction and related conversion technologies, as well as in the physical, chemical, mechanical and thermal characterization of biomass, fibres, polymers and composite materials. My research addresses how raw-material properties, processing conditions and material structure influence performance, durability, degradation, safety and end-use quality. A key part of my work is to translate scientific understanding into practical solutions for industrial and environmental applications. This includes development and validation of test methods, process optimization, product development, pilot-scale activities and collaboration with companies, authorities and academic partners. As Research Group Leader, I manage research activities, funding applications and cross-functional collaborations across academic, industrial and public-sector stakeholders. I am particularly interested in projects that connect biomass conversion, circular resource use, biobased materials, climate mitigation and safe implementation of new technologies.
