I first experienced studying at DTU as an exchange student at Socrates Erasmus programme. From the very beginning, DTU made a very good impression on me so I decided to stay in Denmark and take my master studies at DTU. MSc. programme in Electrical Engineering was a natural choice for me, because it included most of the courses I was interested in. It also offered knowledge and skills I was looking for. Now, at the end of my studies working on the thesis project, I am sure it was a good choice.
Studying at DTU is in many ways different from what I have experienced during my first two years of studies in Poland. For me, one of the most important differences were freedom of choice when selecting courses. If you would like to focus on some specific topics or get a hands-on experience there is always also a possibility to arrange a special project and get all necessary hardware and support. Another advantage of DTU are informal relations with teachers, they are open and willing to help.
Follow up in 2017
It has been almost 10 years since my graduation from DTU.
When I look back, I can see now that I have benefited from studying at DTU in a number of ways. First of all, I have learned how to cooperate in diverse project teams across different languages and cultures. It turned out that in order to succeed in professional life engineers need "soft skills" as much as "hard" knowledge. I have also gained self-confidence, much needed when starting to work in an international corporation. Last but not least, I have experienced that a degree from a foreign university is a good way for your CV to stand out and attract recruiters attention.
My interest in robotics evolved into a software development career due to the situation on the job market and my programming skills.
