Mathematics course with physical attendance

Do you need to brush-up your mathematics skills before starting as a new student at DTU? DTU offers a four-day mathematics course at Ballerup Campus. The course is open to all new bachelor students. Please note, however, that the course is held in Danish.

Who is the mathematics course aimed at?

Participation in the four-day mathematics course is voluntary, but DTU encourages you to participate if:

  • You achieved an average grade of 4 or below in mathematics in your qualifying exam,
  • You have been away from mathematics for some years, or
  • You find that the online mathematics course does not provide sufficient training.

Even if you have a high average grade or perform well in the online mathematics courses, you are still welcome to attend.

The course cannot replace the requirement for Mathematics A, but is solely offered as a brush-up course.

Where and when does the course take place?

  • Monday, August 18th to Thursday, August 21st, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Ballerup Campus

What does the course include?

The course will cover elementary arithmetic/mathematics in topics from secondary school curriculum up to and including mathematics at A-level:

  • Equations, quadratic polynomials
  • Differentiable functions
  • Composite and inverse functions
  • Integration
  • Differential equations
  • Vectors

You will need a calculator for the course and something to write on. You do not need to acquire a new calculator; just use the one you have.

You can sign up for the four-day mathematics course on the mathematics portal. Log in with your DTU login. We recommend using Google Chrome or FireFox when logging into the portal.
