At DTU Startup Day, we present the thriving startup scene on and around DTU, when we gather the next generation of tech entrepreneurs for a thrilling day. We invite investors and industry to meet and connect with +60 early-stage, knowledge-based startups showcasing their prototypes and technologies in the exhibition and pitching their business ideas on stage.

DTU Startup Day features the best and brightest entrepreneurs and innovators from our ecosystem, e.g., startups from the accelerator and incubator programs such as Skylab Ignite, Skylab Incubator, and DTU X-Tech, research-based spinouts to the cohort of GreenUP Accelerator, Denmark’s most ambitious growth program for climate tech startups, and much more.

DTU’s innovation ecosystem will share insights and knowledge on investment in deep tech startups, impact assessment, and the steps to build a thriving innovation ecosystem.

Innovation thrives on diversity! DTU Startup Day embraces and celebrates all forms of diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of background, beliefs, gender, or physical or neurological conditions, is encouraged to participate.

2024: Startup Day celebrates DTU’s strong innovation environment

For the fourth year in a row, innovative DTU start-ups are pitching technologies for the benefit of society, to potential investors and partners. The day marks DTU’s innovation environment, which is considered one of the most well-developed among technical universities in Europe.

2023: DTU Startup Day provides a framework for collaboration around budding startups

More than 60 DTU startups pitch their ideas to investors and mentors at DTU Startup Day. The day marks that DTU has a well-developed startup environment that contributes to creating technologies for the benefit of society.

Ella Harris and Gizem Simsek from the startup Uvisa Health, which provides an effective non-pharmacological solution for bacterial and yeast infections, won the BioInnovation Institute Sten Scheibye Innovation Award. The BioInnovation Institute is one of the leading life science incubators in the Nordics and was presented for the first time during DTU Startup Day 2022.

DTU has one of the most well-developed ecosystems for innovation and entrepreneurship among technical universities in Europe. Several enablers make the well-developed innovation ecosystem reach its high level of success:

DTU Science Park is one of Europe's largest and leading communities for deep tech companies. In DTU Science Park, internationally recognized growth programs for startups are conducted, and facilities and services are offered that create optimal conditions for growth.

Access to mentors, business developers, technical advisors, investors, acceleration programs, fundraising, and DTU is provided. All are indispensable for the survival, development, and growth of deep tech companies.

DTU Skylab is an innovation hub – a meeting place for students, researchers, and external collaborators.

DTU Skylab provides various resources and facilities to foster innovation among researchers and students across DTU in collaboration with companies, organizations, and other universities.

PreSeed Ventures (PSV) cares about a conscious future. As a venture house, our mission is to clear the path for founders who build companies that matter.

Our hybrid setup, comprising PSV Foundry, PSV Lab, and two unique venture funds, PSV Tech, and PSV DeepTech, sets us free from adhering to a singular method. Rather we rethink existing ways and models to maximize our impact beyond any individual firm or investment. Together, we can punch above our weight.

DTU Entrepreneurship is a center where research and education in entrepreneurship are conducted.

The center, in close collaboration with companies and the business community, develops practice-oriented education programs and courses in entrepreneurship.
