Joint Supervision Collaboration (DTU-UQ)
Joint supervision collaboration between DTU and the University of Queensland, Australia.
DTU and the University of Queensland (UQ) have a joint supervision agreement aimed at fostering increased PhD collaboration.
The collaboration enables PhD students, who are less than one year into their PhD project, to participate in a joint supervision arrangement, where they receive guidance from both their primary supervisor at their home institution and an additional supervisor at the partner university.
As part of the PhD program, it is mandatory to undertake an exchange stay at the host university, where the PhD student will have the opportunity to work closely with their co-supervisor.
Upon completion of the joint supervision program, PhD students will receive a PhD diploma supplement indicating that the project was carried out under joint supervision.
What are the formal requirements throughout the joint supervision program?
- Project agreement: To initiate a joint supervision arrangement, an Individual Agreement on Joint Supervision must be signed.
- Exchange agreement: In connection with the exchange stay, an Application for Collaborative PhD Exchange must be submitted.
- For visits to DTU, a Visiting Scientist Agreement – specific for the DTU-UQ collaboration - must also be signed.
The agreements should also be applied to PhD collaborations carried out through the strategic alliance scholarships (requires DTU login).
