University of Queensland (UQ)

Strategic partnership with University of Queensland in Australia.

Purpose

The University of Queensland (UQ) is an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented university with over 55,000 students and six faculties.

Since 2003, UQ has been one of DTU’s strategic partners, encompassing well-developed research collaborations in a wide range of areas.

In June 2023, a bilateral strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Denmark and Australia. An agreement that mentions research and technology cooperation as well as solutions to climate change.

Activities

In 2024, DTU and UQ entered into a strategic cooperation agreement that emphasizes the universities’ collaboration within:

  • Student mobility, where UQ is a popular destination for DTU students.
  • Innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • Research collaboration, especially in quantum technology, biotechnology, aquatic sciences, food technology, genomics, health technology, water resources, and sustainable energy
  • Global Bioeconomy Alliance, of which both UQ and DTU are partners.
  • Joint Supervision Collaboration, where PhD student can do their PhD project in collaboration with a research group at UQ.
