Space Technology - Specialization
Space technology is no longer reserved national and international space agencies and big corporations but is a field of increasing interest to a wide range of private industries, including small and medium-sized companies. Demand is therefore high for candidates with strong qualifications within space technology. Skills that of course also are requested in many high technology companies.
The study line in space technology covers several fields with emphasis e.g. on electronic spacecraft instrumentation such as magnetometers and star cameras; on electromagnetic systems such as antennas, radars and radiometers; on attitude control systems; on signal and statistical processing techniques for remote sensing data from satellites and aircrafts. The program also includes the possibility of participating in the development of complete student satellites or specific components, systems or methods for satellites and their applications.
The job opportunities are many, e.g. in international space corporations such as EADS and Thales Alenia Space, in Danish space companies such as Terma A/S, Rovsing International A/S, and Thrane & Thrane A/S, in international space agencies such as ESA and NASA, and public institutions such as DMI and GEUS. Also, companies work with advanced technology will be interesting for the candidates.

Elective Courses
This group contains in principle all DTU's advanced level courses. In addition to regular courses, special courses are also accepted in this group of courses, provided that the topic and level of the special course is approved by DTU supervisors. Instead you may also choose to follow more programme specific courses or conduct a MSc thesis larger than the standard 30 ECTS points.
Specializations are merely recommended ways of choosing the courses in the curriculum. Applicants are not admitted to a specialization but to the programme and it is possible to choose among all the courses in the curriculum following the directions given. However, if a specialization has been fulfilled the title of the specialization may be added to the diploma.
