Operations Research and Optimization - Specialization

Operations Research and Optimization

Operations Research (OR) uses mathematical modeling, statistics, and optimization to aid problem-solving and decision-making in engineering and business.

Specialisation specific courses

The student must follow the requirements in the general curriculum for the programme. In addition, at least 15 ECTS points are obtained among the following courses:

02428 Dynamic Optimization 5 point Autumn E4A (Tues 13-17)
02611 Optimization for Data Science 5 point Spring F5B (Wed 13-17)
02612 Constrained Optimization 5 point Spring F4A (Tues 13-17)
42112 Mathematical Programming Modelling 5 point January
42114 Integer Programming 5 point Autumn E4A (Tues 13-17)
42115 Network Optimization 5 point Autumn E4B (Fri 8-12)
42136 Large Scale Optimization using Decomposition 5 point Spring F2B (Thurs 8-12)

Note that specialisations are merely recommended ways of choosing the courses in the curriculum. Applicants are not admitted to a specialisation but to the programme, and it is possible to choose among all the courses in the curriculum following the directions given. However, if a specialisation has been fulfilled, the title of the specialisation may be added to the diploma.
