As a student on the Master's programme in Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture, you will study at the DTU campus in Hirtshals. DTU Aqua in Hirtshals is top of the class regarding research within aquaculture and fisheries technology. As a student, you will have the unique opportunity to be taught by and work with leading experts and professors researching topics ranging from new aquaculture feed ingredients and species to modern fishing methods that can help reduce by-catches and minimise environmental impact. You will have access to modern facilities and labs ideal for projects and experimental academic work.
Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture is one of only two DTU programmes located in Hirtshals. This means you will quickly build a strong bond with the other students on campus and become a part of a small, cosy, and international study environment. You will work with fellow students from all over the world with different backgrounds in biology, environmental engineering, and other natural sciences.
In your spare time, you can take advantage of all the benefits of studying in Hirtshals, right by the sea. Enjoy walks and running in the wild nature or go mountain biking, kayaking, swimming, fishing, bird watching, or sailing with your fellow students. The campus is located in Hirtshals in northern Denmark, under one-hour transportation from the city of Aalborg.
