Global Talent Programme

The DTU Global Talent Programme gives outstanding undergraduate students the opportunity to spend one or two semesters in Denmark (available for both Spring and Fall semesters), gaining hands-on experience in a world-class research and innovation environment. During the programme, you will:

  • Work on real research projects within DTU departments or take part in internships with companies in Denmark. Example areas: Biotechnology, Bioprocessing, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Healthcare Technology, Sustainable / Green Technologies, Engineering Design & Innovation, Data Science and AI, Medical Devices, and other STEM-related fields
  • Enhance your academic, professional, and intercultural skills
  • Shape your future studies and career
  • If you are not selected for a project or internship, you can sign up for courses at DTU, gaining valuable academic and international experience

Who Can Apply?

You are eligible if you:

  • Are a top 10% undergraduate student in your 3rd or 4th year
  • Are nominated by your home university based on grades, extracurricular activities, and relevant experience. Please note that your home university must be part of DTU’s alliances and strategic partnerships (see the full list of universities here, excluding the Global Bioeconomy Alliance). Our strategic partner universities can nominate their students here. 
  • Can commit to one or two semesters
  • Have a background in STEM-related fields
  • Possess strong English skills (proven by a high English proficiency test score)

For the Fall Semester

Key Dates and Steps:

  • 1 March: Internship postings become available on DTU’s Career Hub. When creating your account, please follow the step-by-step guide and ensure that your profile is set up correctly to access DTU Global Talent Programme internship postings.
  • 15 April: Nomination and application deadline. 
  • April - May: Interviews
  • May: Final selection and confirmation of participation
  • Start date: End of August 2026

For the Spring Semester

Key Dates and Steps:

  • 1 June: Internship postings become available on DTU’s Career Hub. When creating your account, please follow the step-by-step guide and ensure that your profile is set up correctly to access DTU Global Talent Programme internship postings.
  • 15 August: Nomination and application deadline. 
  • August - September: Interviews
  • September: Final selection and confirmation of participation
  • Start date: End of January 

Next Steps After Application

  • Participate under your university’s exchange agreement
  • If applicable, join as an Erasmus+ Traineeship student
  • DTU will confirm your participation and provide further guidance
