Waste and Circularity - Specialization
Waste & Circularity
The specialization “Waste & Circularity” focuses on sustainable management, reuse and impact minimisation of waste products generated by human activities. Students will use holistic technological approaches for the characterization of such waste products or recovered products, account for mass and substance flows, design emission reduction and conversion technologies and assess environmental impacts.
Environmental Engineering students wishing to obtain a specialization in Waste & Circularity must complete at least 30 ECTS within the following group of courses:
12130 | Solid Waste Technology and Management | 10 | point | Autumn E4 (Tues 13-17, Fri 8-12) |
12132 | LCA Modelling of Waste Management Systems | 5 | point | January |
12227 | Regional and global air pollution effects | 5 | point | Spring F2B (Thurs 8-12) |
12228 | Urban air pollution | 5 | point | Autumn E2B (Thurs 8-12) |
12238 | Priority Organic Pollutants - Transport, Distribution and Transformation | 5 | point | Spring F4B (Fri 8-12) |
12330 | Contaminated Sites | 10 | point | Spring F3 (Tues 8-12, Fri 13-17) |
12772 | Life Cycle Assessment of Products and Systems | 10 | point | Autumn E1 (Mon 8-12, Thurs 13-17) |
12774 | Assessing health, environmental and life cycle impacts | 5 | point | June |
28871 | Production of Biofuels | 10 | point | Spring F2A (Mon 13-17) and Spring F4B (Fri 8-12) |
The following discontinued course also fulfills the requirements for the specialization:
12135 | Waste management at Roskilde Festival | 5 | point | June and July |
12136 | Bioenergy Technologies | 10 | point | Spring F4 (Tues 13-17, Fri 8-12) |
12144 | Material Flow Analysis | 5 | point | August |
12226 | Air Pollution and Environmental Effects | 5 | point | E2B (Thurs 8-12) |
Specializations are merely recommended ways of choosing the courses in the curriculum. Applicants are not admitted to a specialization but to the programme and it is possible to choose among all the courses in the curriculum following the directions given. However, if a specialization has been fulfilled the title of the specialization may be added to the diploma.
