Sustainability at DTU

In November 2022, DTU published a sustainability report for the first time documenting climate accounts, consumption of resources and recycling, and the degree of socially sustainable surroundings and behaviour. The report provides a snapshot but also sets the direction for the time to come. In the future, the report will be published once a year, and it will thus be a documentation of the development of the initiatives DTU is working on.

At DTU, we have created a charter that commits us to consider sustainability as a cornerstone of all our study programmes. If you choose an engineering degree at DTU, you are also choosing a degree that prepares you to make a sustainable difference. The charter is our pledge to current and future students, ensuring that you obtain a deep understanding of sustainability and the development of sustainable solutions.

DTU has formulated a separate policy on sustainability. Sustainability is a separate benchmark in the overall strategy for 2020–2025.

A central part of DTU's efforts to increase sustainability is made possible through the involvement of students and staff. On DTU's intranet, students and employees can find material and information about DTU's specific initiatives and what can be done in everyday life to contribute to more sustainable behaviour (access requires login).
